The Tribes Way

How our philosophy supports growth through experience.

At Tribes, wellbeing is built through doing, not just talking. Our mentoring framework blends timeless cultural learning with evidence-informed therapeutic practice, supporting participants through real-world experiences that build capability, resilience, and self-belief.

Our programs draw on five core pathways:

  • Ecotherapy

  • Survival Skills

  • Life Skills

  • Adventure Therapy

  • Legend Therapy

Purpose & Culture

The values that shape how we work, lead, and support people.

Tribes is guided by a clear mission, a long-term vision, and values that are lived through daily practice. We describe these values through the natural elements. Symbols that help explain growth, connection, and personal development in ways that feel grounded and meaningful. This supports both participants and staff to grow together.

Leadership & EcoMentors

The people who bring the vision to life.

Tribes is led by a multidisciplinary team with experience across mentoring, outdoor education, health, disability support, and community services. Our leadership and Eco-Mentors bring diverse backgrounds and a shared commitment to creating safe, engaging, and meaningful experiences.

Relationships sit at the centre of everything we do,  because strong outcomes begin with trusted people.

Safety, Training & Standards

Professional governance that protects growth and trust.

Tribes maintains comprehensive training, supervision, and governance frameworks aligned with NDIS Practice Standards. Our internal LMS training suite and risk management systems are designed specifically for dynamic, real-world environments, ensuring programs remain safe, consistent, and participant-focused.

At Tribes, safety and growth work hand in hand, supported by skilled people, strong systems, and continuous learning.

The Heart of Tribes — The Sensory Farm

The Tribes Sensory Farm in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast, is where philosophy, mentoring, and land-based learning come together. It provides a living environment where participants engage with nature, animals, food production, and experiential programs designed to support wellbeing and capability.

The woman has long dark hair, a tan bucket hat, and is dressed casually in shorts and a tank top. The man is wearing a black baseball cap, a white t-shirt with a graphic, and dark pants.

Stories From Our Community

Growth is best understood through experience. Our Stories section shares participant journeys, family reflections, mentor insights, and learning experiences that highlight the impact of connection, adventure, and shared journey.
